Western Australia’s Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Landgate and Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions formally signed on as Centre Participants in March, completing the national picture of natural hazard partnerships.

These partnerships will significantly boost research capacity throughout Western Australia through new projects tailored to the state’s unique environment and needs, while enabling the Centre to now have a Participant base that covers the entire country.

Partnership Development Manager, Sarah Mizzi believes that this partnership is of significant importance to both the state and country.

“Western Australia is a big part of Australia’s natural hazards picture, and this Participation agreement means Natural Hazards Research Australia is now able to deliver research projects with national relevance and local impact,” Sarah said.
