About

Dr Rowena Morris is one of Natural Hazards Research Australia's Node Research Managers, based in New South Wales. 

Rowena has a background in geomorphology, marine planning, community education, fire and incident management. She has previously worked for NSW and SA state government, Commonwealth government, numerous universities and CSIRO.  

Rowena has a BScHons in Geomorphology, Graduate Diploma in Education and a PhD focusing on managing post-fire erosion in the Southern Mount Lofty Ranges, South Australia. She has been involved in many incident management teams, developing multiagency fire management plans, frontline bushfire response, planning and conducting prescribed burns. She enjoys connecting and translating between operational staff and researchers to create applied research solutions to improve policy and standard operating procedures.
