Whistleblower policy

Natural Hazards Research Australia (the Centre) is committed to conducting its business with integrity and engaging in ethical decision-making, being legally compliant and acting consistently with good corporate governance standards.

The Centre strongly encourages reporting of unethical, unlawful, fraudulent behaviours or other misconduct involving Natural Hazard Research Australia, or any director, officer or employee of, or contractor, supplier to or other person dealing with, these entities.

It will also ensure that whistleblower reports can be made anonymously and confidentially without fear of intimidation, retaliation or adverse employment action being taken against them.

Ways to speak up

The Centre has also contracted the Australian whistleblowing service Your Call to receive and manage reports with impartiality and confidentially.

This allows you to choose from the following options:

  1. Remain completely anonymous.
  2. Identify yourself to Your Call only.
  3. Identify yourself to both Your Call and Natural Hazards Research Australia.

With your consent, your report will be provided to the Centre’s nominated whistleblower officers.
