Two new Research Services Project Officers are welcomed to Natural Hazards Research Australia’s research services team, strengthening the efficiency and effectiveness of project management support for the diverse portfolio of research and utilisation projects.
Vicki Godfrey, covering Dr Supriya Gurung's maternity leave, will be based at our Brisbane node office. Vicki joins the Centre from Moreton Bay Regional Council where she was a Community Resilience Officer. She has a wealth of experience in project and program management and a strong background in community strategic planning within government and not-for-profit sectors. Vicki has previously work with Toowoomba Regional Council, Brimbank City Council and Australian Red Cross.
Ethel Samalca will be based in Victoria, joining the Centre from her role as a senior researcher and agricultural economist, with a PhD in agribusiness from the University of Southern Queensland. She brings valuable experience in project management, evidence-based analysis and applied research practices to the team, having spent more than a decade working with multidisciplinary teams in agriculture, environment and in the development of training pedagogies, including for CSIRO, Southwest TAFE and Geelong Grammar School.
The Centre welcomes Vicki and Ethel to the team.
