Syed Adeel Akhtar possesses extensive experience in disaster management and development, demonstrating a strong commitment to his profession. Adeel is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Tasmania. His research focuses on the complex connection between emotional intelligence and trust-building within disaster response space. The goal of his research is to improve collaboration and effectiveness in disaster response.
Adeel has a Master's degree in Rural Development from the University of Queensland, Australia, and a Master's degree in Political Science from Pakistan. He has gained extensive experience over the course of 15 years, leading 71 development and humanitarian projects. Throughout this time, he has collaborated with government entities, international NGOs, and the United Nations, which has significantly enhanced his expertise. Notable collaborations have been with organisations such as EDHEC Business School, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and several others
