Dr Katitza Marinkovic Chavez is a psychologist and research fellow specialising in participatory methods and child-centred research. Her work focuses on supporting children, young people, and families affected by trauma, disasters, and systemic gaps in care. Katitza has extensive experience leading and co-designing projects on post-disaster recovery, community resilience, and storytelling-based approaches, including work with bereaved families and with young people involved in creative climate initiatives. A Chilean migrant to Australia, she completed her PhD and has spent the past eight years working in the same research team, contributing to academic projects, supervision of qualitative research students, and the development of community-based resources. Her work centres equity, lived experience, and sustainable participatory practice.
